Competitors/Parents are responsible for checking that both the rider and their horses are eligible to compete in these classes. In class 5 places 1-5 will qualify for the Area Round if there are up to 40 entries and then on a ratio basis of 1 additional qualifying place per 10 additional entries.

MINI SJ CLASSES (all individual and teams)
Rosettes will be awarded in each class: 1st -6th for individuals and 1st – 4th for teams, rosettes also for Best Axe Vale PC member for each class
ARENA EVENTING CLASSES
Rosettes to 8th place in each AE class and rosette for higher place AVPC member for each class
The top Branch teams (not mixed teams) if less than 5 teams are entered, and the top two branch teams if 5 or more teams entered, and top three individuals will qualify, whether they are in a team or not, at the following levels: Lead Rein 40cm, Assisted 40cm, Unassisted 40cm, 50cm, and 60cm, will qualify for the Championships at the end of August 2024 at Bicton Arena.
Each team at the Championships must include two out of the original four horse/rider combinations.
Any combination of horse and rider may not compete where the height is 30cm lower than that at which they have previously competed. This is meant as a friendly, fairly low key, championships, “a learning experience” so that competitors will feel confident at moving up to Regionals. Riders who have competed at the Regional Show Jumping or Eventing competition are not eligible for the Mini Championships. Any other information: custancebaker@gmail.com 01392 861750
1. Ages as at 1st January 2024.
2. Start times will be issued for each rider in each class. These may alter on day depending on how fast classes run. Please be prepared to start earlier or later than set time.
3. This competition will be run under Pony Club Show Jumping Rules 2024. The judge’s decision will be final.
4. SJ Classes will be run as SINGLE PHASE, the second half will be timed. All competitors may jump the second half unless they have been eliminated.
5. No horse/pony can be ridden in more than two classes.
6. Tack checks will be carried out in the warm up arena
7. Correct protective helmets must be worn comply with the 2023 Pony Club rules which can be found at hat-rule-2023.pdf (pcuk.org)
Failure to comply will result in elimination. Beware of the change of hat standards in January 2023.
8. The wearing of body protectors is recommended for SJ.
9. The warm up arena will be stewarded.
10.The jumps in the warm up arena must not exceed the height of the jumps in the main ring.
11.The organisers reserve the right to alter/cancel classes at their discretion. Also change start times. Please be prepared and allow enough time for classes to run early or late.
12.Liability: Neither the landowners, organisers, nor any person acting on their behalf accept any liability for any loss, damage, accident, injury or illness to horses, riders, spectators or any other persons or property whatsoever.
13.The organiser of the Event has taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all the Officials and Stewards.
14. All dogs on short leads at all times.
16. Horse and ponies must be over 4 years on the day of competition.
17. 5. If you are a team of 4, the best 3 scores will count.
18. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR HORSE/PONY
1.To be run under Pony Club Spring Champs Rules (see PC website www.pcuk.org).
2. Combinations are expected to compete at their normal Pony Club level of eligibility, not below.
3. Combination of horse and rider cannot enter more than 2 classes. No horse can compete more than once per class.
4. The class winners will be decided by fewest penalties, then if equality of penalties, closest to xc optimum time.
5. All competitors must wear a protective helmet, manufactured to one of the minimum standards listed in the Pony Club Hat Rule 2023 at all times when mounted with the chin straps fastened. 6. Body protectors BETA 2009 (LEVEL3) purple label or BETA 2018 (LEVEL 3) blue and black label compulsory
7. Stopwatches are not allowed in any class.
Legal Liability Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event nor The Pony Club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies, nor the landlord or his tenant, accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories, or any other personal property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Entries are only accepted on this basis.
